Privacy policy

This website presents GeoCubes GmbH. It contains no forms, no analytics tools and no advertising. We process personal data only where it is technically necessary to deliver the website or where you write to us.

1. Controller

GeoCubes GmbH, Augustinerplatz 2, 79098 Freiburg im Breisgau, Germany. Email: info@geocubes.de. No data protection officer has been appointed; there is no legal obligation to do so.

2. Hosting and server logs

The website is hosted by Vercel Inc., 440 N Barranca Ave #4133, Covina, CA 91723, USA, and delivered through its global network of servers. When you open a page, Vercel processes technically necessary data: IP address, date and time, the page requested, the amount of data transferred, browser and operating system, and the previously visited page (referrer). This data is required to deliver the website and keep it secure, for example to fend off attacks and analyse errors; we do not evaluate it for analytics. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. A data processing agreement under Art. 28 GDPR is in place with Vercel. Vercel is certified under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework; the EU Standard Contractual Clauses apply in addition. Server logs are stored for a limited period and then deleted.

3. Cookies and local storage

This website sets no cookies for analytics or advertising and embeds no third-party services. Two technical settings are stored in your browser: the chosen language (cookie “NEXT_LOCALE”, only if your choice differs from your browser language; deleted when you close the browser) and the light or dark colour mode (entry “theme” in local storage). Neither contains personal data, and both are required for the presentation you asked for (Section 25(2) no. 2 TDDDG). A cookie notice is therefore not required.

4. Fonts

The fonts used are served from our hosting. No connections are made to Google Fonts or other font providers.

5. Contact by email

If you write to us by email, we process your address and the details in your message in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns a prospective contract, otherwise Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (answering enquiries). We delete the correspondence once the matter is settled, unless commercial or tax retention periods of six to ten years require otherwise.

6. Your rights

You have the right of access (Art. 15 GDPR), rectification (Art. 16), erasure (Art. 17), restriction of processing (Art. 18) and data portability (Art. 20). You may object, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to processing based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (Art. 21). To do so, contact info@geocubes.de. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; the authority responsible for us is the State Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information of Baden-Württemberg, Lautenschlagerstraße 20, 70173 Stuttgart, Germany.
